Articles
Use articles for dated editorial content built with the block editor.
For example, use an article for a news update or a report about a completed event. Use Pages for a permanent About page. The article form separates the small preview shown in lists from the full text readers open.

Find or create an article
Filter the list with Filter by title, State, Author, or Category. The author filter lists the published authors in the current language.
The list shows each article’s state, title, categories, Published time, and Updated date. An Authors column appears when the Authors feature is enabled.
Select an article’s title or choose Add article.
Complete the base fields
In Base data, add the Title, URL, Card description, and Card image. The title is required.
The card description is a short introduction for article lists. Write enough to explain why someone should open the article. Put the full story in Content, not in this field. The card image is also separate from images inside the story. Its hint asks for a 16:9 image, shown at 302×170 pixels in cards.
Alternative text for screen readers belongs to Image blocks inside the content.
The URL controls the article’s public address. Leave it empty to have JORD create it from the title when you first save. The grey suggestion shows that value.
Avoid changing the URL after you have shared the article, because old links may stop working.
- Choose managed categories in Category tags for consistent grouping.
- Add free tags in General tags for labels that do not need a category record.
- Add authors in Author tags. This field appears when the Authors feature is enabled. See Authors.
- Tick 18+ content or Exclude from RSS when required.
- Exclude ads appears only when the Banners plugin is enabled.
Categories come from a managed list, such as “Company news”. Free tags are labels entered on the article itself. Choose existing categories consistently instead of making near-duplicates. An author credit names the writer; it does not give that person an admin account.
RSS exclusion keeps an article out of the supported RSS feed, which is a way readers or services receive updates. It is not a way to make a published article private. Ask the publishing lead before changing the 18+ or ad settings.
Write the article
Use the Content area for headings, text, images, embeds, and other blocks. Tick Show table of contents for a long, structured article.
See the Block editor. Page break appears when Multipage is enabled.
For a simple article, add a Text block for the opening paragraph, then a Heading and more Text for the next topic. Add images where they help explain the story. You do not need every block type.
Add related articles
In Related articles, select Add article to choose an article, and use the move controls to arrange their order.
Use this for genuine next reading, not every article in the same category.
Save and publish
The article footer shows Delete, Copy, the autosave status, Save, Schedule, Preview, and Publish or Unpublish. Delete and Preview appear after the first save.
Preview opens the current form values on the public website in a new tab, without publishing them.
On an article that is already public, Save stores your changes as a draft and shows Saved (draft). The public article does not change, and Publish appears again. Select Publish to make the changes live. When you reopen the article, the latest draft loads and Draft loaded appears.
Publish saves the current values and makes the article public, so you do not need to select Save first.
Schedule publication
- Select Schedule.
- Pick the publication date and time. The time is Central European time.
- Select Save in the dialog. The article is published with that date and appears on the website from then on.
After scheduling, the button shows Scheduled with the date. To change it, select the button again. The dialog’s Delete clears the date.
Autosave
When JORD has enabled autosave for the website, the footer shows its status, such as Autosave active. After the first save, it keeps a draft of your changes about every seven seconds. Autosave never updates the public article; select Save or Publish for that.
Publisher Role
When Publisher Role is enabled, JORD restricts article publication to authorised publishers and higher roles. Editors can still prepare and save content within their permissions.
Review the publishing and SEO workflow before making the article public.
Copy an article
Copy opens a new, unsaved draft with the same content. It adds the word “copy”, in the content’s language, to the title and clears the URL and publication date.
- Open the article and select Copy.
- Change the title and set a new URL, or leave the URL empty.
- Select Save. Nothing is stored until you do.
Correct an article that is already public
- Find the existing article rather than creating a replacement with the same title.
- Check its language and change the relevant text, image, or other field.
- Select Publish and wait for confirmation. Save alone keeps the changes as a draft.
- Open the public article and check both the full story and its listing card.
If publication is not available to your account, select Save and ask the assigned publisher to publish the draft. Do not change your roles or copy the article to bypass approval. If a scheduled article is not visible yet, compare its publication time with the current time. The publication schedule is separate from any event date mentioned in the story.
- The title, card description, and card image read well in a list.
- Categories and authors are correct.
- The latest changes were published, not only saved as a draft.
